What It’s Like Living on Al Reem Island

Discover Al Reem Island living in Abu Dhabi. Urban island life with apartments, waterfront views, shops, and schools.

In north-eastern Abu Dhabi, Al Reem Island sits just off the mainland, linked by bridges to the capital, Al Maryah Island, Saadiyat Island, and the wider city road network. It is shaped by residential and commercial towers, waterfront routes, and a growing network of everyday services. Its reputation is tied to urban island living, with homes, schools, retail, healthcare, and parks all gathered within a compact waterfront setting.
Al Reem has a rhythm of its own. Its towers are part of Abu Dhabi’s skyline, its malls and schools are already in daily use, and its roads carry the ordinary movement of a working residential district. Office commutes, school runs, supermarket visits, and evening walks all sit within the same compact setting. That everyday usefulness is a large part of its appeal.

<h2 id="h.p9qomuxz40an" class="c2">Housing And Residential Character</h2>
Homes rise around the waterfront across Al Reem. The island’s residential character is shaped by apartment towers, high-floor views, and a broad choice of established communities, many with retail, parks, and daily services close at hand. For residents drawn to apartment living, Al Reem works because the practical pieces are already close together: city access, schools, shopping, healthcare, and the waterfront
The Gate Towers are still a useful starting point. Three glass towers are linked at the top by a sky bridge, with penthouses set high above the city. Together with The Arc Towers, the wider Gate and Arc community brings a substantial residential and retail presence to the island, with panoramic views and a position close to the capital’s centre.
Sun and Sky Towers offer another established version of high-rise living on Reem. The development includes apartments and penthouses, with gyms, children’s activities, a sports court, nursery, spa, and indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis among its facilities. It is one of the addresses that helped make Reem popular with residents looking for city convenience beside the water.
The Shams Abu Dhabi district brings together many of the things residents use day to day. The district brings homes, retail, and community facilities close to Gate Towers, Shams Central Park, Sun and Sky Towers, Shams Boutik, Repton School, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, the beach, and marina areas. This is one of the parts of Reem where the island feels most complete, with daily services arranged within easy reach.
Makers District gives Reem a design-led pocket with a different character. The 18-hectare waterfront masterplan, developed by IMKAN, brings together residential, hospitality, commercial, and retail spaces with a focus on culture and creativity. Pixel is its clearest residential expression, with seven towers, 525 residences, retail and commercial space arranged around a pedestrianised plaza. It adds a boutique, creative note to the island’s wider residential mix.
Newer schemes are keeping Al Reem in motion. Muheira, Modon’s first freehold residential towers on the island, brings 475 one- to three-bedroom apartments close to Abu Dhabi Global Market and a waterfront promenade with jogging and cycling tracks. Its launch was quickly absorbed, selling out on the first day and generating approximately AED 1 billion, which says much about the appetite for well-placed homes on the island.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.z32lofbt5rys" class="c2">Retail, Dining and Daily Convenience</h2>
Al Reem’s strongest everyday advantage is convenience. The island has reached the point where residents can handle much of the week close to home, from groceries and coffee to family meals, healthcare appointments, and indoor entertainment. <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/the-journal/reem-island-mall" rel="noopener">Reem Mall</a> is the main retail anchor, with hundreds of shops, around 85 restaurants and cafés, Carrefour Hypermarket, <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/the-journal/snow-park-abu-dhabi" rel="noopener">Snow Abu Dhabi</a>, and dining names such as Eataly adding both practical and more polished choices.
Shams Boutik gives the island a smaller, local rhythm, with Waitrose, cafés, pharmacies and casual dining serving the kind of errands residents notice most during the week. Around Reem Central Park, cafés and casual restaurants add a more open-air layer, while Makers District and Cove Beach bring a stronger waterfront dining and beach-club element to the island.
Dining on Al Reem is still largely shaped by malls, cafés, waterfront settings, and neighbourhood favourites, which suits the way the island functions. Weekday dinners, family meals, coffee stops, and grocery runs can stay close to home, while <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/the-journal/al-maryah-island" rel="noopener">Al Maryah</a> and Saadiyat remain nearby for a broader restaurant circuit. This is where Reem works particularly well: not through one grand dining strip, but through a practical spread of places residents can use without making a full journey out of it.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.d9zqx4q18j3q" class="c2">Parks, Waterfront Life and Open Space</h2>
Al Reem is built at the city scale, yet its parks and waterfront routes give residents room to step out of that density. Al Fay Park is one of the island’s strongest outdoor assets, with native planting, shaded paths, sports facilities, and children’s play areas. It brings a softer texture to a district otherwise known for towers, bridges, and podiums.
The Shams canal adds another useful outdoor route through the island. Its waterside paths, trees, bridges, and public spaces support walking, exercise, and casual meeting points close to home. These are the details that make Reem feel practical for daily life rather than dependent on occasional trips elsewhere.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.2qtrcmu08v7e" class="c2">Education, Healthcare and Family Life</h2>
Al Reem is well supplied for families, particularly compared with newer districts still waiting for schools and clinics to arrive. Repton Abu Dhabi is located on the island and offers British curriculum education from early years through to sixth form. Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi gives Reem a higher-education presence and adds to the island’s international profile.
Healthcare is also close at hand. Reem Hospital provides a wide range of medical services, while Mediclinic Reem Mall gives residents access to primary care inside the mall. For families, this matters. Schools, healthcare, supermarkets, cafés, parks, and retail are already part of the island’s built environment.
Building choice still needs care, as each tower has its own facilities, parking arrangements, service charges, and outlook. Yet the wider island already has the essentials of family life in place, which gives Reem a practical advantage over districts still moving through early delivery.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.bex56358gytu" class="c2">Investment Appeal</h2>
Al Reem’s investment case is rooted in how established the island has become. It is no longer a district carried mainly by plans. By Q1 2026, Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre figures placed Reem Island among the emirate’s leading areas by transaction value, with AED 9.45 billion recorded during a quarter in which Abu Dhabi reached AED 66 billion in total real estate transactions.
Much of that confidence comes from the way Reem now functions. The island has delivered towers, schools, healthcare, parks, retail centres, and major road links, giving buyers a residential setting already in daily use. New projects continue to add interest, but they are being introduced into a market with an existing population, rental base, and resale activity.
Modon’s recent launches have kept that momentum visible. <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/muheira-reem-island" rel="noopener">Muheira</a> sold out on launch day, generating approximately AED 1 billion from 475 apartments, while <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/tara-park-reem-island" rel="noopener">Tara Park</a> followed with 834 residences across six towers and close to AED 2 billion in sales. For buyers, these results point to steady demand for well-positioned homes on an island that already has the practical structure of a mature address.
For investors, Al Reem’s appeal lies in that balance. It has the reassurance of an established district, with the benefit of new infrastructure, fresh residential stock, and a growing retail and community offer. Its value rests not only on skyline and waterfront views, but on the fact that the island works well in everyday life.

Forty-Eight Nations, One Trophy: Your Guide to the FIFA World Cup 2026

Explore FIFA World Cup 2026! Discover the expanded 48-nation format, 16 host cities across Canada, Mexico & USA, and exciting storylines. Your guide awaits

Forty-eight competing nations. One hundred and four matches. Sixteen host cities spread across three countries and five time zones. Thirty-nine days from opening whistle to final. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, does not merely surpass everything that preceded it, but redefines what a global football tournament can look like.
To appreciate the scale of the expansion, consider what it replaces. Qatar 2022 featured 32 teams and 64 matches compared to the 48 and 104 this year. For the first time in the competition's history, three sovereign nations share hosting duties. For the first time in 32 years, the World Cup returns to North America. And for the first time in the sport's history, a round of 32, placing 32 sides in the knockout bracket, will serve as the entry point to the business end of the tournament.
<img src="https://143587181.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hubfs/143587181/FIFA%202026.jpg" width="1000" height="747" loading="lazy" alt="FIFA 2026" style="height: auto; max-width: 100%; width: 1000px;" bis_size="{&quot;x&quot;:299,&quot;y&quot;:567,&quot;w&quot;:1000,&quot;h&quot;:747,&quot;abs_x&quot;:370,&quot;abs_y&quot;:689}">
<h2 id="h.vc8mo2uo6e8b" class="c2">How the Competition Works</h2>
The revised format organises the 48 nations into twelve groups of four rather than the traditional eight. The top two finishers in each group advance automatically; the eight best third-placed teams across all groups join them. It is worth understanding this structure before the group stage begins on 11 June. A team that loses their opening match is not necessarily out of contention; equally, topping the group remains the surest route to a favourable knockout draw.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.1stu5p7hmftw" class="c2">The Venues</h2>
Sixteen cities across North America have been selected as hosts, organised into Western, Central, and Eastern clusters to reduce unnecessary travel during the group stage. The United States provides eleven venues: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle. Mexico contributes Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, while Canada hosts in Toronto and Vancouver.
Among the stadiums, two stand apart for their sheer scale. The Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, with a capacity of at least 87,000, will host the opening fixture on 11 June, becoming the only stadium ever to stage three World Cup opening matches. AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with a capacity ranging between 80,000 and 105,000, is among the largest covered arenas in the world.
The final takes place on 19 July at MetLife Stadium in the New York/New Jersey area. FIFA has confirmed that the occasion will include a half-time entertainment show drawing from the Super Bowl tradition, with Coldplay among the confirmed performers - a signal, if one were needed, that the scale of ambition extends well beyond the pitch.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.sds6fadm4wg5" class="c2">The Players and the Storylines</h2>
The 2026 World Cup arrives at a moment of extraordinary individual talent and of compelling personal narratives.
Lionel Messi&nbsp;is the inescapable figure. The Argentine captain, now 38 and playing club football at Inter Miami, will set a new record with his sixth World Cup appearance, surpassing his own mark of 26 tournament matches. Most observers regard this as his final campaign. Argentina, the defending champions, are attempting to become the first side to retain the title since Brazil in 1962; it is a formidable ambition made more so by the fact that three of the last four defending champions failed to emerge from the group stage.
The narrative of succession runs alongside Messi's farewell. Kylian Mbappé, now at the peak of his powers, captains France, a squad Messi himself has identified as one of the most dangerous in the field. Spain, regarded as outright favourites ahead of France, England, Brazil, and Argentina, have completed a generational transition that has produced what many regard as the most coherent team in world football. Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, in what is expected to be his own World Cup swansong, and Norway's Erling Haaland add further lustre to a field of individual talent rarely matched in the competition's history.
Amid the familiar names, four nations will experience the tournament for the first time: Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan. Their presence is a reminder that the World Cup, for all its star power, remains equally a story of nations arriving for the first time and carrying that weight with them.
The last six tournaments have produced six different champions - Brazil (2002), Italy (2006), Spain (2010), Germany (2014), France (2018), and Argentina (2022) - a run of diversity without precedent in the competition's history. Whether 2026 extends that sequence or marks the beginning of a new era of dominance is the central question that will occupy football for the next seven weeks.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.5o17epgo2658" class="c2">The Schedule</h2>

Forty-eight competing nations. One hundred and four matches. Sixteen host cities spread across three countries and five time zones. Thirty-nine days from opening whistle to final. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, does not merely surpass everything that preceded it, but redefines what a global football tournament can look like.

Reem Mall: Where The Island Lives at Its Best

Discover Reem Mall on Reem Island, a digitally enabled lifestyle destination combining luxury shopping, fine dining, immersive entertainment, and cutting-edge convenience.

<div>
In the broad cityscape that is Reem Island, Reem Mall stands as a defining feature of the community. This $1.2 billion digitally enabled lifestyle destination at the heart of Reem Island goes far beyond the conventional retail paradigm.
</div>
The mall has been conceived as a fully integrated environment in which entertainment, fine dining, luxury commerce, and technological intelligence converge under one roof. For its HNW and UHNW residents who expect their surroundings to match the calibre of their lives, Reem Mall represents an extension of home.
<img src="https://143587181.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hubfs/143587181/reem%20island%20mall.jpg" width="1000" height="563" loading="lazy" alt="reem island mall" style="height: auto; max-width: 100%; width: 1000px;">
<h2 id="h.8ct8wcdrz28u" style="display: inline;">1. Entertainment &amp; Leisure</h2>
&nbsp;
Reem Mall's entertainment offering is anchored by <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/the-journal/snow-park-abu-dhabi" rel="noopener">Snow Abu Dhabi</a>, one of the world's largest indoor snow parks: a 125,000 sq.ft. Arctic&nbsp;environment maintained&nbsp;at a consistent sub-zero temperature, housing more than twenty rides and attractions across a series of immersive themed zones. The experiences are genuinely remarkable in their ambition:
<ul class="c0 lst-kix_zgezq5ojp1x6-0 start">
<li class="c4 c8 li-bullet-0">The Flight of the Snowy Owl — a suspended roll-glider affording aerial views of an Enchanted Forest — sits alongside the Polar Express Train, the Crystal Carousel, and Drift's Downhill Run, a high-adrenaline sledding descent.</li>
<li class="c4 c8 li-bullet-0">The Snowflake Garden provides an open expanse of snow more than 50 centimetres deep, making it ideal for those who wish to simply pause, play, or photograph the extraordinary improbability of a blizzard in the Arabian Gulf.</li>
<li class="c4 c8 li-bullet-0">The Lodge, accessible to both park guests and mall visitors, serves warm cuisine with panoramic views across the snowscape, a detail that exemplifies the thoughtfulness underpinning the entire project.</li>
</ul>
For cinema, Reem Mall houses the only VOX&nbsp;location in the region to offer dedicated Private Viewing Rooms, an intimate, eight-seater experience designed for private gatherings and celebrations. The GOLD concept extends the luxury proposition further, with reclining plush seating, a private lounge, and a culinary service that delivers directly to your seat. The MAX screen, equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound, and a dedicated KIDS theatre with adjoining party rooms, ensure the offer is as complete for families as it is for individuals.
For those who prefer more active entertainment, CUBE Challenges&nbsp;presents 32 real-life gaming rooms combining physical fitness, logic, and collaborative problem-solving - a concept that has proven particularly compelling among Reem Island's young professional demographic. Orange Wheels, miniBOUNCE, and the interactive LEGO centre Pop in and Play&nbsp;complete a family entertainment landscape of exceptional depth and variety.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.pd56dq5l99qz" style="display: inline;">2. Fine Dining</h2>
&nbsp;
Reem Mall's culinary landscape is among its most distinguished attributes, with a curated collection of restaurants that range from heritage Emirati fine dining to internationally celebrated concepts.
<ul class="c0 lst-kix_xtounfmqdpra-0 start">
<li class="c4 c8 li-bullet-0">Amina Restaurant&nbsp;stands as the mall's most culturally resonant dining destination. Created by award-winning Chef Mariam Al Mansoori, the space presents traditional Emirati cuisine (Beef and Chicken Majboos, Sambooza Short Ribs) within an interior of red velvet, gold accents, and soaring ceilings that speaks the language of occasion. A retail component, offering gourmet dates, honey, and olive oil, allows guests to carry something of the experience home.</li>

The kitchen overlooks an elegant dining room that balances old-world Indian craft with contemporary refinement.</li>

</ul>
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.40t2u0242rj1" style="display: inline;">3. Luxury Retail</h2>
&nbsp;
The retail landscape at Reem Mall is anchored by a world first: the inaugural standalone Bloomingdale's Beauty&nbsp;flagship, a 4,500 square-foot destination housing elite beauty maisons including Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Ex Nihilo, Diptyque Paris, Loewe, and Penhaligon's. Digital "magic mirrors" for virtual try-on and personalised fragrance and skincare consultations elevate the experience well beyond conventional retail.
In fashion, Torinese Suits&nbsp;offers luxury Italian-style tailoring for men, a considered addition for residents whose professional lives demand immaculate presentation, while Junior Couture&nbsp;brings high-end children's fashion from Monnalisa, Abel &amp; Lula, and Angel's Face to an audience that expects no less. Flagship stores for Massimo Dutti, Boggi Milano, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger complete the contemporary premium offer.
Fine jewellery and timepiece boutiques such as Zen Diamonds, Al Zain Jewellery, and Rivoli Watches sit alongside luxury eyewear from Optifashion and premium leather goods from Bric's Milano. For the home, Marina Home Interiors, Chattels &amp; More, and Zara Home offer products that reflect the design consciousness of the island's residents.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.d9f2fu39i28s" style="display: inline;">4. Technology &amp; Convenience</h2>
&nbsp;
Reem Mall's status as a "digitally enabled" destination is not merely a marketing designation, but an operational reality. A 23,000 square-foot logistics hub processes up to 30,000 parcels per day, while a hands-free shopping application allows guests to purchase throughout their visit and collect from a digital locker at departure, or receive delivery to their door within 24 hours. A complimentary Podcast and Photo Studio on Level 1 speaks to the island's creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.k42gxkj9ryvi" class="c11">Final Thoughts</h2>
Reem Mall is, in essence, what a mall becomes when it is designed not for an affluent, globally minded audience that is entirely unwilling to compromise. For Reem Island residents, it is simply the neighbourhood at its finest.

<div>
Reem Island has long been recognised as one of Abu Dhabi's most coveted addresses and as a sanctuary of architectural refinement, waterfront living, and curated lifestyle amenities. Yet it is perhaps in its dining landscape that the island's evolution into a truly world-class enclave is most clearly expressed.
</div>
For its high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth residents who approach the table with the same discernment they bring to every facet of their lives, Reem Island now offers a constellation of exceptional restaurants, each delivering a distinct expression of culinary artistry. Read on to explore international culinary destinations fused together on Al Reem with the same deftness as their chefs combining longstanding heritage and innovation in their kitchens.

<h2>1. Ibn Al Bahr</h2>
Few dining concepts capture the essence of provenance quite like Ibn Al Bahr, the Michelin-recognised Lebanese seafood institution that has brought its celebrated Dubai legacy to the shores of Reem Island's Makers District. The concept is deceptively elemental: arrive, select your catch from a market-style fresh fish counter, and determine how it will be prepared — chargrilled, steamed, or encrusted in salt — before the ocean-fresh ingredient is transformed into something extraordinary.
The menu anchors itself around the finest the sea can offer: chargrilled red snapper, giant prawns finished with garlic and chili, and a supporting cast of classic mezze including hummus and fish kibbeh in tahini that speaks to the depth of the Lebanese culinary tradition. The setting is equally considered: a breezy seaside terrace adorned with the honest paraphernalia of the fishing life: ropes, anchors, weathered wood, creating an atmosphere that feels both authentic and aspirational. For residents who value integrity of ingredients over theatrical excess, Ibn Al Bahr is essential.

<h2>2. The Butcher Shop &amp; Grill</h2>
For The Butcher Shop &amp; Grill, positioned within Reem Mall, the devil is in the details; it commands attention through the quiet confidence of South African heritage. This premier South African grill house distinguishes itself with an integrated retail butchery, a setup that speaks to a singular commitment to the quality of its product. The selection of prime cuts is impeccably curated: Wagyu Ribeye, Fillet Steak, and, for the adventurous palate, an Ostrich Steak that signals the kitchen's willingness to move beyond convention.
Beyond the grill, the menu pays respectful homage to South African culinary tradition in the form of Beef Espetada presented on skewers, Peri Peri Chicken Livers of remarkable depth, and the beloved Malva Pudding to close. The atmosphere is composed and hushed enough for a considered business lunch, yet warm enough for an evening of genuine leisure. Reservations are recommended, just one small detail that speaks to the restaurant's standing on the island.

<h2>3. Art of Dum</h2>
On Level 1 of Reem Mall, Art of Dum invites its guests into one of the most storied traditions in Indian gastronomy. Under the direction of chefs whose experience spans elite institutions including Emirates Palace, the restaurant has elevated the ancient technique of Dum cooking — the art of sealing and slow-simmering ingredients to preserve every nuance of flavour — into a modern fine dining proposition of genuine sophistication.
The signatures are a subtle revelry of the technique that stretches back centuries:
<ul class="c9 lst-kix_dxor9dltfhu4-0 start">
<li class="c5 li-bullet-0">the "Black Gold" Dal Makhani, simmered overnight to achieve a depth and creaminess that defies its simplicity</li>
<li class="c5 li-bullet-0">the Yakhni Dum Gosht Biryani, layered and aromatic</li>
<li class="c5 li-bullet-0">the Chandi Malai Chicken Tikka, silken and precisely spiced.</li>
</ul>
Even the beverage collection reflects the restaurant's commitment to elevated presentation, with mocktails that are as easy on the eyes as they are on the palate. For those who understand that true luxury lies in mastery of craft, Art of Dum rewards handsomely.

<h2>4. Café James</h2>
Tucked within Shams Boutik, Café James has earned its place in the Michelin Guide through a philosophy that prizes restraint, quality, and rigour above all else. The setting, an all-white minimalist interior flooded with natural light, creates a sense of calm that feels almost meditative in its effect, a rare quality in any urban dining room.
The kitchen operates with ambition across the full arc of the day. Breakfast and brunch are treated as genuine art forms, with Eggs Benedict, Wagyu-infused Shakshuka, and French Toast demonstrating a command of comfort elevated to craft. Come evening, the menu shifts with elegance: Dibba Bay oysters, caviar, truffle, and snow crab ravioli reflect a kitchen entirely at ease with luxury ingredients. Café James is, in every sense, a restaurant that repays the attention of those who know what to look for.

<h2>5. MouzMari</h2>
For residents in pursuit of elite beef and an atmosphere that matches the refinement of their surroundings, MouzMari presents a compelling proposition. This Argentinean steakhouse, inflected with an Emirati sensibility, has built its reputation on one of the finest Tomahawk steaks in Abu Dhabi, with a bone-in presentation of considerable theatre, dry-aged to develop the concentrated, complex flavour that distinguishes truly exceptional beef from the merely good.
The setting is rather romantic, with views across the Reem Island landscape and an atmosphere conducive to deep conversation. Valet parking and late-night service further deliver on the expectations of its clientele. At an average spend of approximately AED 500 for two, MouzMari positions itself precisely where it belongs: a destination for evenings that merit genuine ceremony.
&nbsp;
<h2>Final Thoughts</h2>
Reem Island's dining landscape continues to mature with the same considered intentionality that defines its residential offering. And for those who call this island home, the table has never been better set.

A Shore Apart: Private Beaches on Hudayriyat Island

Discover Hudayriyat Island's top private beaches: Marsana, Bab Al Nojoum, and Al Bateen. Experience luxury coastal escapes in Abu Dhabi.

<div>
Beaches naturally have the distinct talent of slowing us down, whether with assertion or with gentle care. It is not merely a matter of sand and sea, but of atmosphere, intention and the quiet luxury of feeling entirely removed from the throes of ordinary life. In a sense, there is a certain alchemy to the perfect beach.
</div>
On Hudayriyat Island, Abu Dhabi's most ambitiously conceived waterfront destination, that alchemy has been carefully cultivated across a remarkable collection of beach experiences. Each is unique in character, yet they are all united by an unwavering commitment to quality and the art of coastal living.
From the island's vibrant public shores to its most exclusive residential retreats, Hudayriyat's beaches tell the story of a destination in full bloom. Here is a closer look at what awaits along its shoreline.
<img src="https://143587181.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hubfs/143587181/hudayriyat%20island%20beach.jpg" width="1000" height="667" loading="lazy" alt="hudayriyat island beach" style="height: auto; max-width: 100%; width: 1000px;">
<h2 id="h.8ct8wcdrz28u" style="display: inline;">1. Marsana Beach</h2>
&nbsp;
At the heart of Hudayriyat's beach offering lies Marsana, the island's central beach destination and perhaps its most thoughtfully designed. Divided into two distinct zones, Marsana caters to a range of preferences while maintaining an atmosphere of refinement throughout.
Marsana East, the premium tier, offers a luxury beach experience complete with superior sunbeds and a seamless food-to-bed service accessible via QR code — a small but telling detail that speaks to the venue's dedication to effortless comfort. Entry is priced at AED 50 on weekdays and AED 100 on weekends and public holidays. Marsana West provides a more accessible alternative, delivering the essential comforts of a well-run private beach at a gentler price point.
Perhaps most intriguingly, Marsana also offers a Night Beach — a floodlit swim zone that extends the coastal experience well beyond the golden hour, remaining open until 10pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends. For those who find something uniquely romantic in swimming beneath the stars, it is an offering without parallel on the island.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.40t2u0242rj1" style="display: inline;">2. Bab Al Nojoum</h2>
&nbsp;
For those who seek something altogether more immersive, Bab Al Nojoum presents one of the region's most singular beach experiences. This luxury glamping resort — the very same that is home to the acclaimed La Cocinna restaurant&nbsp;— offers guests exclusive access to its own private beachfront, a tranquil stretch of shore reserved entirely for those with the privilege of staying within its grounds.
Accommodation ranges from the charming simplicity of Al Najim tents, available from approximately AED 105 per night, to lavish overwater villas drawing clear inspiration from the Maldives. Plunge pools, kayaking, paddle boarding, beach cinema screenings and evening bonfires complete a picture of resort life that is as romantic as it is refined. At Bab Al Nojoum, the beach becomes the centrepiece of an entire philosophy of escape.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.d9f2fu39i28s" style="display: inline;">3. Al Bateen Ladies Beach</h2>
&nbsp;
Situated just beyond the island's connecting bridge, Al Bateen Ladies Beach occupies a league of its own. Holding the internationally recognised Blue Flag certification — a distinction awarded only to beaches that meet rigorous standards of water quality, safety and environmental management — this is a dedicated sanctuary for women and children, staffed exclusively by female lifeguards and security personnel.
Entry is priced at AED 25 for adults and AED 5 for children between the ages of three and twelve, with the beach open daily from 10am to 10pm. It is a space conceived with both care and conviction, offering its guests the rare gift of absolute privacy in a stunning coastal setting.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.6wauqz7jp0xr" style="display: inline;">4. Nawayef and Al Naseem</h2>
&nbsp;
Perhaps the most coveted beach access on Hudayriyat Island is that which is available only to those who call it home. The residential communities of <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/nawayef-park-views-hudayriyat-island" rel="noopener">Nawayef</a> and Al Naseem represent the island's most exclusive tier of coastal living, where beach access is a private privilege rather than a public amenity.
Nawayef's&nbsp;high-end mansions enjoy direct access to over 50 kilometres of pristine waterfront, while <a class="c1" href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/al-naseem-hudayriyat-island" rel="noopener">Al Naseem</a>&nbsp;offers its residents a dedicated private beach club, pedestrian promenades and the quiet assurance that the sea is always, quite literally, at their door.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.ekdsfnfn0msp" class="c8">In Conclusion</h2>
In its full breadth, Hudayriyat Island's beach offering reflects the very spirit of the destination itself: layered, ambitious and designed to meet the highest expectations. Whether one arrives as a visitor, a guest or a resident, the island's shores extend a welcome that is, in every sense, exceptional.

Wellness Living: Abu Dhabi's Wellness-Integrated Residences

Discover wellness-integrated residences in Abu Dhabi. Find luxury homes prioritizing wellbeing, from Hudayriyat Island to Saadiyat Beach.

<div>
There is a quiet but profound transformation taking place across Abu Dhabi that is reshaping not only the city's skyline, but the very philosophy of what it means to call a place home. Where luxury real estate once measured itself in marble finishes and panoramic views, a new currency has emerged: wellbeing. From the waterfront communities of Hudayriyat Island to the cultural enclave of Saadiyat Beach, Abu Dhabi's most distinguished residential developments are increasingly designed around a singular ambition: to pair comfort with a deliberate and holistic sense of wellness.
</div>
This shift reflects a deeper realignment in how the emirate's residents understand the relationship between their living environment and their quality of life. With over 90% of UAE residents now prioritising health features in their homes, and more than 80% willing to pay a premium for wellness-integrated living, the demand signal is clear. The market has responded, and the results are remarkable.

<h2 id="h.8ct8wcdrz28u" class="c4">A City With Wellness at Its Core</h2>
The momentum behind wellness living in Abu Dhabi is reinforced at the governance level. The Abu Dhabi Family Wellbeing Strategy&nbsp;represents a comprehensive, multi-generational commitment to nurturing every dimension of residents' lives, delivered through the Family Care Authority.
For young people and couples, the strategy introduces programmes in life skills, financial literacy, and family preparation, building the foundations for healthy, stable households from the outset. Parents are supported through dedicated guidance centres focused on positive parenting, family cohesion, and long-term financial planning, equipping families with the tools to raise children rooted in strong values and a clear sense of identity. For seniors, new community centres and social programmes work to strengthen connections, preserve independence, and ensure that older residents remain active, valued members of society. And underpinning it all is a commitment to mental wellbeing and fostering healthy relationships at home, enabling quality time between family members, in addition to encouraging workplaces that support rather than diminish the lives of their employees.
This extends past the simple bounds of social policy and is a blueprint for a city that understands wellbeing as infrastructure, something as fundamental to a thriving society as any road or institution. Abu Dhabi's leading developers have taken this vision seriously, translating its principles into built environments designed to actively support the lives of those who inhabit them. The result is a new generation of residential communities where the line between home and sanctuary is deliberately, beautifully blurred.

<h3>Where Nature Meets Architecture</h3>

Few communities embody this ethos more elegantly than <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/nawayef-park-views-hudayriyat-island" rel="noopener">Nawayef Park Views</a>&nbsp;on Hudayriyat Island. Drawing inspiration from the charming plazas of the Mediterranean, this low-rise enclave is arranged across wide, pergola-shaded streets softened by lush landscaping and tranquil water features. Swimming pools, fitness centres, yoga zones, and a vibrant beachfront sit alongside a central park that forms the social heart of the community and creates an environment designed to encourage movement, connection, and rest in equal measure.
On the same island, <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/bashayer-hudayriyat-island" rel="noopener">Bashayer</a>&nbsp;occupies a striking position directly on the northern coastline. Its tiered low-rise residences command sweeping views of the Abu Dhabi skyline, while a marina and extensive sporting facilities create a backdrop for daily life that is both invigorating and serene.

<h3>Family Living Reimagined</h3>

For families, Al Naseem&nbsp;on Hudayriyat Island offers one of the emirate's most considered residential propositions. Contemporary villas available in South Californian or Modern Contemporary styles are nestled among greenery and peaceful walking paths, with interiors conceived to balance openness and privacy. Cycling tracks, basketball courts, a communal pool, and proximity to <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/the-journal/private-schools-in-abu-dhabi/" rel="noopener">top-rated schools</a> speak to a community built not merely for residence, but for flourishing across every stage of family life.

<h3>Sophisticated Living on Saadiyat and Maryah</h3>

At the pinnacle of Abu Dhabi's wellness-luxury spectrum stand the <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/four-seasons-private-residences-saadiyat-island" rel="noopener">Four Seasons Private Residences&nbsp;on both Saadiyat Beach</a>&nbsp;and Al Maryah Island. On Saadiyat, the emphasis is on an intentional, nature-inspired existence where Gulf waters, lush greenery, and serene spaces encourage a life lived at a gentler pace. On <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/project/four-seasons-private-residences-abu-dhabi" rel="noopener">Al Maryah Island, the Four Seasons</a> tower offers a more urbane but equally refined sensibility, with access to Pearl Spa &amp; Wellness, world-class dining, and a full suite of bespoke residential services. Across both addresses, wellness is not just an amenity, but is the defining character of the experience.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.ekdsfnfn0msp" class="c4">A New Measure of Luxury</h2>
What unites these developments is a shared conviction that true luxury is inseparable from wellbeing. The <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/buy/abu-dhabi/property-for-sale" rel="noopener">finest homes in Abu Dhabi</a> are no longer defined solely by what they contain, but by how they make their residents feel: rested, connected, active, and at ease within their environment. As the emirate continues its ascent as one of the world's most liveable cities, this integration of wellness into residential life will only deepen. And for discerning buyers, the question is no longer simply where to live, but how to live, and live well at that.

<h2 id="h.8ct8wcdrz28u" style="display: inline;">1. Ilios Beach Club</h2>

&nbsp;
At the forefront of Hudayriyat's culinary identity stands Ilios Beach Club, an establishment that has swiftly become one of <a href="https://abudhabi-sothebysrealty.ae/en/the-journal/best-fine-dining-restaurants-in-abu-dhabi" rel="noopener">Abu Dhabi's most talked-about dining destinations</a>. Set against the extraordinary backdrop of the world's largest wave pool, Ilios offers its guests a full sensory experience steeped in Greek and Mediterranean elegance, with artful Japanese influences woven throughout.
Menu highlights include Tomahawk steak of grade nine or above, priced at Dhs 1,100 per kilogram, arrives alongside Australian Black Angus and wild-caught seafood sold fresh by the kilo. For those inclined toward the truly extraordinary, Beluga Caviar — offered at Dhs 2,100 for 50 grams — sets an unmistakable tone. The Meraki Dining &amp; Terrace and the celebrated Aegean Brunch, held every Saturday and Sunday to the accompaniment of live DJ sets, have made Ilios the island's defining venue for golden-hour gatherings and sophisticated sunset sessions.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.pd56dq5l99qz" style="display: inline;">2. Nalu Surf Club</h2>

&nbsp;
Where Ilios leans into Mediterranean serenity, Nalu Surf Club brings a vibrant, kinetic energy to the waterfront dining experience. A multi-sensory concept that bridges the worlds of high-end cuisine and surf culture, Nalu occupies a striking space that encompasses a beachfront terrace and a stunning rooftop bar with sweeping island views.
The menu draws from the rich culinary traditions of Latin America and Asia, presenting what can only be described as elevated comfort food — bold, generous and deeply satisfying. The pomelo salad, calamari and the signature Nasi Goreng have earned devoted followings, while the Saturday Surf Brunch — priced at Dhs 450 with unlimited beverages — has become an event in its own right. Smart casual in dress code yet sophisticated in spirit, Nalu occupies a rare space: effortlessly cool without ever sacrificing refinement.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.40t2u0242rj1" style="display: inline;">3. Marmoura Lebanese Restaurant and Lounge</h2>

&nbsp;
For those who seek something more rooted in tradition, Marmoura offers a deeply authentic Lebanese dining experience in an idyllic beachfront setting. Panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf form the backdrop to evenings filled with the warm, unhurried rhythms of Levantine hospitality.
The kitchen excels in the classics — a perfectly executed Mixed Grill, delicate fried kibbeh, and a cheese kunafah that speaks to generations of culinary craft. Signature mocktails complement dishes served to the gentle sound of Fairuz, the beloved voice of the Arab world. Marmoura's reputation for late-night dining and high-end shisha has earned it a loyal following, reflected in an impressive 4.7-star rating across more than 500 reviews. It is the kind of place one returns to, again and again.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.d9f2fu39i28s" style="display: inline;">4. La Cocinna</h2>

&nbsp;
Nestled within the island's luxury glamping resort Bab Al Nojoum, La Cocinna offers a dining experience that transcends the boundaries of the conventional restaurant. Here, food becomes a form of theatre — live cooking stations, musical performances and artistic elements are woven seamlessly into the evening, creating an atmosphere that is at once romantic and exhilarating.
The menu is an ambitious and accomplished journey through Andalusian and Catalan traditions, enriched by Latin American and Eastern Mediterranean influences. Candlelit dinners beneath a canopy of stars lend the setting an intimacy that is difficult to replicate. At an average cost of Dhs 400 for two, La Cocinna represents exceptional value for an experience of this calibre.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.6wauqz7jp0xr" style="display: inline;">5. Nonna Stella Osteria</h2>

&nbsp;
Completing the island's culinary constellation is Nonna Stella Osteria, a high-end artisanal Italian concept that channels the warmth and craft of coastal Italy with remarkable authenticity. Homemade pasta and wood-fired pizzas — prepared using a nine-year-old starter dough — form the heart of a menu built on premium ingredients, including organic imports sourced directly from Italy.
The atmosphere is convivial and intentional, the kind of setting that encourages long evenings and lingering conversation. In a dining landscape often dominated by spectacle, Nonna Stella offers something quietly profound: food made with genuine love and exceptional skill.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.ekdsfnfn0msp" class="c5">In Closing</h2>
Hudayriyat Island's dining scene is, in many ways, a reflection of Abu Dhabi's own culinary evolution — confident, cosmopolitan and increasingly world-class. For residents and visitors alike, the island offers not just a place to eat, but a collection of experiences worthy of the finest tables anywhere in the region.

Conceived with the relaxed sophistication of a Miami-style promenade, this is the island's primary social hub. It is open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM and animated at nearly every hour.
The park's recreational offering is exceptionally well-curated. Husaak Adventures operates guided kayaking excursions through the surrounding mangroves, providing a surprisingly immersive encounter with the island's natural edge. A city beach area lends the park a resort-like ease, while a substantial skate park, punctuated by thoughtfully commissioned art installations, brings a creative, youthful energy to the grounds.
The dining scene here is equally elevated. Santorini Cafe offers Greek and international cuisine with views over the canal in a setting that rewards a long, slow lunch. Quince Restaurant caters to those seeking American gourmet fare in a refined environment. A dedicated food truck zone rounds out the options for more casual dining.
The park offers two hours of complimentary parking, with a modest fee of AED 10 per hour thereafter. Families with pets will find a fully designated dog park within the grounds, making Reem Central as welcoming to four-legged residents as it is to their owners.

<h2 id="h.pd56dq5l99qz" style="display: inline;">2. Al Fay Park</h2>

&nbsp;
Opened as Abu Dhabi's first biodiversity park, Al Fay Park occupies a category entirely its own. Spanning 27,500 sq.m. and open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, this meticulously conceived green space is centred on a singular vision: the restoration and celebration of native flora in an urban environment.
The park's signature feature is its Forest Track, a winding trail beneath the canopy of more than 2,000 indigenous trees, among them the culturally significant Ghaf, the UAE's national tree. The effect is immediately perceptible; temperatures beneath the canopy are measurably cooler than the surrounding streetscape, offering a genuine respite. It is the kind of space that encourages slower movement and a more contemplative pace.
For the more active visitor, Al Fay Park is no less impressive. Courts for badminton, basketball, and beach volleyball are all free to use, alongside a mini-golf course suited to all ages. Some courts may require advance booking during peak periods, which speaks to the park's enduring popularity among residents.
Parking is complimentary for the first three hours, and the park is fully pet-friendly throughout, a detail that reflects the broader community-mindedness with which the space has been designed.
&nbsp;
<h2 id="h.40t2u0242rj1" style="display: inline;">3. Gateway Park</h2>
&nbsp;
There is a particular kind of park that a city needs: one that asks nothing of you, requires no agenda, and simply offers a place to be. Gateway Park is precisely that. Situated at the base of Reem Island's iconic Gate Towers, this quietly beautiful green space operates around the clock, making it as accessible at dawn as it is at dusk.
The facilities here are intentionally restrained: walking paths, a basketball court, and a children's play area form the essentials. Gateway Park has cultivated a reputation as one of the finest spots on the island for sunset photography, and rightly so as the interplay of fading light against the sculptural silhouette of the Gate Towers is a composition that never quite loses its drama.
Parking is entirely free and plentiful, though visitors should note that the park lacks the restroom and dining infrastructure available at Reem Central and Al Fay. It is a destination best suited to those seeking peaceful escapes.

<h2 id="h.k42gxkj9ryvi" class="c3">In Closing</h2>
Taken together, these three parks reflect the broader ambition of Reem Island itself: to create a community where quality of life is not incidental, but intrinsic. Each space is free to enter, thoughtfully maintained, and genuinely distinctive in what it offers: an outdoor infrastructure that stands comparison with some of the world's great urban neighbourhoods.
