Over the decades it has evolved with care: a rear verandah added in the 1950s, restoration by the Historic Houses Trust of NSW in 1992, and most recently a striking 2023–24 renovation by Sydney architects Gordon + Stone and Blanca Design + Construct, who have woven contemporary design into the cottage's bones without losing sight of its character.
